Most origami is geometric, but Vietnamese artist Hoang Tien Quiet makes curved paper shapes using a complex technique known as wet folding. This method makes Hoang Animal Origami really wonderful. Too little water and the paper dries out, too much water and the paper will tear. The job requires incredible patience, labor, and technique.
Hoang Tien Kwet was born in 1988 and started folding origami in 1990. In 2008 he started inventing his own shapes and co-authored two books on the subject in 2011 and 2013. He has been invited as a guest to various international conventions, including origami conventions in Italy, Germany, France, and Japan.
